Rectangle Disorder is an installation on the frontier of the visible. It occupied the entire main exhibition space of the Leal Rios Foundation with an orthogonal grid (40 x 60 cm) of artificial human hair, suspended at 252 cm. From each intersection of this grid hanged a strand of hair that touched and interacted with the viewers.
From the installation Susana Mendes Silva and Miguel Pereira created, in co-authorship, a series of performances that allowed the audience to experience the work in a sequential mode. In #1 [preview] they unveiled a moment that the general public would never have access; in #2 [instruction manual] the audience will have the opportunity to explore the perception and interaction with the piece having the two performers as guides; and finally, #3 [finissage] was the closing moment of the exhibition that encompassed all the installation, the exhibition space and the audience.
